After being a partner of Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons (since 2020), Qatar Airways is now the new official jersey sponsor of the French soccer champions: the partnership is multi-year and will start from the 2022/23 season.
Emirates airline takes over loyalty program from French hotel chain Accor, the brand ALL was in fact featured on PSG jerseys last season.
Paris Saint-Germain will play an important role in Qatar Airways' extensive sponsorship portfolio: connecting and engaging its brand with the club's hundreds of millions of fans around the world, while offering unique experiences to reward Privilege Club members, who will become Paris Saint-Germain's official frequent flyer program. In addition, Qatar Airways Holidays will offer official travel packages for the club's fans, bringing soccer fans from around the world to Paris to enjoy the city and see some of the world's best soccer players, such as Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos. Packages include round-trip flights, accommodation and match tickets.
Now all that's left to do is wait to see if it will be possible to use Avios points from Qatar's loyalty program to go to the French champions' matches. Which is possible, for example, with points Emirates Skywards for sponsored teams by the Dubai carrier, or Marriott points for Manchester United's matches.
Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, said: "Through this partnership with one of the biggest clubs in the world, Paris Saint-Germain, we have entered a new era. Our bond with the club has grown stronger and stronger, and the new season will see the presence of Qatar Airways on the front of the team's jerseys, one of the best known in the world of soccer. Like Qatar Airways, PSG has great ambitions and we look forward to being part of their success in the coming years."
"The announcement of a new team jersey partner is a milestone for the club." Marc Armstrong, chief partnerships officer of Paris Saint-Germain, said. "We are delighted to see Qatar Airways increase its commitment to the Paris Saint-Germain family. Extremely involved in the sports industry, Qatar Airways is an ambitious airline and one of the most acclaimed in the world. By appearing on the Rouge & Bleu shirt, Qatar Airways will increase its global visibility and involvement in the world of soccer, just months before the World Cup begins in Qatar and well beyond."
