Marriott Bonvoy members can earn up to 6,000 points by renting a car with Sixt and get another 6,000 bonus points for stays at Marriott hotels in Europe.
The two bonuses are not related in the sense that the car rental offer does not require a hotel stay. You can then earn the first 6,000 bonus points simply by renting the car, without necessarily staying in a Marriott group hotel on those days.
In contrast to trigger the second bonus, the rules state that you have to show at check-in the Sixt reservation. However, it is unclear whether it will be enough to show a generic rental or a rental on the days of the stay, in which case I think it will depend a lot on the receptionist and whether or not they ask for proof of rental.

Normally program members receive 750 points for each rental, thanks to this offer they will receive an additional 2,250 points by renting one of the following car categories: I (Intermediate), S (Standard), F (Fullsize), P (Premium) or L (Luxury). Bonus points by staying at a Marriott Hotel
Members will get up to 6,000 bonus Bonvoy points for stays of 2 nights or more at participating Marriott hotels in Western Europe. Offer is valid for stays through Sept. 18.
