Ryanair expects no disruption to its 3,000 daily flights in August or September due to the poorly supported strikes called by two smaller cabin crew unions in Spain, where the company has already concluded a labor agreement with the main Spanish cabin crew union (CCOO). Here is the press note released by the carrier.
"These two smaller unions, representing only a very small portion of our Spanish cabin crew, held a series of poorly supported 'strikes' in June and July that had little or no impact on Ryanair flights to/from Spain. In July alone, Ryanair operated over 3,000 daily flights and carried a record 16.8 million passengers, many of them to/from Spain. Ryanair expects that these latest strike threats, involving only a fraction of Spanish cabin crew, will have no impact on Spanish flights or operations in August and September.
As a correction, if a small number of Ryanair flights in Spain were canceled or delayed in July, this was mainly due to air traffic controllers' (ATC) strikes and flight delays. No flights were canceled in July due to these unsuccessful and poorly supported strikes called by these two minority unions (USO and SITCPLA). The vast majority of Ryanair's Spanish cabin crew is represented by the CCOO union, which has already reached a labor agreement with Ryanair."
