This is the weekend of the return from summer vacation for so many Germans, not to mention the imminent reopening of schools starting next week. The strike is affecting all Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo departures at German airports.
Lufthansa canceled 800 flights at its Frankfurt and Munich hubs. An estimated 130,000 passengers will be affected, ahead of the upcoming weekend. The company is working to return its flight operations to a normal state as quickly as possible. However, the effects of the strike may still result in the cancellation or delay of individual flights even over the weekend.
Eurowings and Eurowings Discover are not affected by the strike and are expected to operate as scheduled. Passengers affected by cancellations were informed immediately and, if possible, rescheduled on alternate flights.
