Japan has further eased restrictions to the movements of tourists, the government in fact raised the limit on international entries from 20,000 daily to the current 50,000.

The only remaining problem is that potential visitors must make reservations through a travel agency, as a point of information and contact. This somewhat limits travelers' choice of accommodation. It also means that it is not possible, for example, to book a place to stay spontaneously while in Japan, so no backpacking trips for the time being.
It is likely that this situation of uncertainty has convinced ITA Airways to adjust flights to the Rising Sun. Initially scheduled for early summer and then postponed to late summer and finally to October, now the debut of the flight is scheduled for next November 5. Takeoff is scheduled at 3:40 p.m. with arrival in Haneda, in the capital of Japan, at 11:35 a.m. the following day. Connection to be operated on Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday from Italy to Japan and Sunday/Wednesday/Friday the return flight arriving in the evening in Rome.
The return flight will also be the longest operated by ITA Airways with an expected duration of just under 15 hours, about 50 minutes longer than the connection from Rome in Buenos Aires opened last June.
Interestingly, however, the change also brought the News about the plane that will be used for this connection: no longer the old A330, but the flagship, namely the A350/900. It will probably be the turn of theaircraft named after Roberto Baggio inaugurate this route given the popularity that the Divine Tail has in the Asian nation.
Alitalia used to fly to Tokyo Narita, the other stopover in Japan's megalopolis, this will thus be the debut of an Italian carrier at Tokyo's most central airport. Now all that remains is to hope that in the next 45 days will come the final go-ahead for tourist travel to a nation that closed its doors in 2020 and to date has welcomed only a handful of tourists per month.
