Today (Sept. 22), however, the most important news came: the Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida put an end to speculation, confirming that his government is about to ease the measures, or perhaps it would be better to say the freeze on tourist travel, from next month. The statement comes from New York, where the United Nations General Assembly in which all the world's heads of government are participating is underway.
"The government is removing the limit on the number of visitors, allowing individual travel and waiving the visa requirement for short-term stays," he said.
Of course, it is not an official announcement, but the prime minister's words almost are, and from now it will be difficult to turn back and clip the wings of millions of passengers ready to board the first plane to Japan.
With the reopening of Japan closed borders in the world will then remain only those of China and territories under the influence of the Asian nation as Hong Kong and Macau. While Taiwan will (re)open in the coming weeks.
