Never would I have thought of using the term "flexare" on our site. Then I remembered that the heart of loyalty programs is really about reaching the highest level and challenging friends to see who has "the best card." We've talked several times about Ryan and the movie "In the Clouds," a cult scene just the one where the two main characters challenge each other to see who has the most cards. Today that is impossible since almost all programs have opted for digital cards.
The new feature of the Bonvoy app
Today going to the Bonvoy app to book a stay I noticed a new button on my profile page, the classic icon indicating the ability to share a piece of content. Too bad there was nothing to share on that screen except my summary in the Marriott hotel chain's loyalty program.
From the dashboard that summarizes trends over the year, it is then possible, by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner, to generate a summary image to share on social media or to send to some friends just as if to say, ".... look here how many points I have!"
As is well known, in these years, I've always said I prefer the Hilton Honors program., thanks to the Gold status included in American Express annual fee and thanks to the fact that it is the level that gives breakfast all over the world (or almost) with every stay.
This year, however, I decided to take advantage of the Marriott promotions to try to be an "elite" Bonvoy, and I must say that I am not having a bad time at all, on the contrary.
Marriott's idea is simple, but ingenious, and it is perfectly in keeping with the gaming philosophy that underlies all loyalty programs. With two clicks you will be able to share your performance and challenge your friends/colleagues and in the process advertise the hotel chain.
In conclusion
An update to the app that brings a feature, that of showing off to friends, and that, if used will advertise Marriott. Quoting Cassano, all I have to do is congratulate Marriott and say, "Sciapò"
