Summer turbulent by Air Canada still doesn't end: after delays, cancellations, and lost luggage, now a very bad impression made with a vegan traveler who had requested a month before the flight that there be a vegan meal on board for her.
The flight was a Frankfurt - Toronto with a travel time of 10 hours and as a "meal" she was offered a small bottle of water and an empty handkerchief.
Writer and traveler Miriam Porter claims to have booked the vegan meal as early as a month before and that she had been confirmed several times to be able to take advantage of it. Apparently, something went crooked.
By now, having a vegetarian and vegan alternative on flights should be the normality, these kinds of diets are becoming increasingly popular around the world. There are many companies that have adapted, offering vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free alternatives and being mindful of sustainability and recycling.
Flying with dietary restrictions is never easy, but this Toronto woman's experience with Air Canada was hilariously bad. - Miriam Porter https://t.co/rTgTgfQbZo #AirCanada pic.twitter.com/9hhQoSXxkc

Miriam Porter asked several flight attendants if they could help her out, and fortunately one attendant was able to bring her a apple, one banana, a sandwich and a bar of muesli From Business Class.
Porter was not lucky on the outbound flight either; she recounted that her first meal was almost frozen and the second was completely frozen from being inedible, flight attendants explained to her that meals are often brought with dry ice on board and it can happen.
"I asked the flight attendant and they said it was from dry ice and sometimes this happens," he said. "The person in front of me had ordered a kosher meal and his fruit salad was also frozen. We laughed about it."
