A major airline like SWISS is constantly aiming to improve the offer proposed to its customers. The latest initiative concerns the culinary offerings on board. The menu has taken a leap forward to say the least, at least for some classes. Should you purchase tickets, you will be in for a pleasant surprise. In fact, you will be able to taste some delicacies. All thanks to the collaboration started with the traditional Hotel Baur au Lac in Zurich. This opens a new chapter in the food service program. SWISS Taste of Switzerland, which you are sure to fall in love with.
SWISS: star-studded cuisine
The rules of the game change on board SWISS, at least for passengers holding First and Business Class tickets. Star-studded, mouth-watering dishes will be offered during the trip. Going down to the specifics, the creation of the recipes included within this fine menu have been created by two top chefs. They are. Laurent Eperon e Maximilian Muller, active in the Pavillon Restaurant inside the famous hotel. Different, however, is the idea for Premium Economy Class passengers. The carrier serves them some specialties inspired by the Zurich region.
A real pampering for passengers then, although the company stressed that this novelty has a rather short expiration date. If you want to experience the thrill of a star-studded in-flight lunch or dinner, know that there is time until the end of November to treat yourself to this gift. It's a winning move, considering how exclusive the culinary world is at Zurich's famous Baur au Lac, which of course boasts five stars. Inside is the exclusive Pavillon, and knowing that the dishes before you in the cabin come from that kitchen is really exciting.
New recipes for SWISS: what to expect
As mentioned, the top chefs involved are Laurent Eperon and Maximilian Muller, active in the Pavillon restaurant, which boasts two Michelin stars and 18-GaultMillau-point status. SWISS premium travelers on long-haul trips will have the privilege of enjoying their interpretation of French haute cuisine.
Within the diverse menu SWISS Taste of Switzerland there is also room for contamination with specialties from Zurich. A winning move, useful for spreading culture and making more people aware of the culinary variety Switzerland has to offer. Here are Laurent Eperon's words about this collaboration: "For an increasing number of people, it is becoming more and more important to be able to combine a high level of service with high quality. At Baur au Lac we have been providing all this for more than 175 years. We are therefore happy to have the opportunity, thanks to SWISS, to offer such an experience to guests outside our hotel as well."
This type of experience is by no means new to SWISS customers. In fact, it is since December 2002 that the carrier has been offering a journey through Swiss cuisine on its long-haul flights. Various fine chefs are thus invited to present their home canton with a selection of exquisite recipes.
