It's not a lounge it's a studio apartment, review Plaza Premium airport in Jeddah

When I pass through an airport, I cannot avoid visiting all the lounges accessible, a visit that almost always turns into a review on this site. I must admit, it has never been as difficult to get out of one lounge to visit the others as it was this time. Access

Le Plaza Premium are accessible free of charge to holders of American Express Platinum, Dragonpass holders, a product similar to Priority Pass, can also enter this lounge, in addition to those who are willing to pay admission.

Location

This lounge is on the main floor of the terminal, just a few steps from the central plaza of Terminal 1, the one where Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, mainly operates. Looking up you can tell that this lounge is below the Welcome Lounge, but it is much, much smaller.

The Lounge

Already from the reception desk, one can sense that one will not be stunned by this lounge. The strange thing is that it appears to be two mirrored lounges. For a second I thought they were one for men and one for women. I would not be surprised being in Saudi Arabia.

After swiping my Amex and answering for the first time the question in which country it was issued, my guest and I were invited to enter the lounge to the left. I admit, the first thought out loud was, "Ah, back there will be the actual lounge." Nothing could be more wrong; the lounge was all there before our eyes.

A maximum of 20 seats, something like this I had never seen before. Two small bar tables in the buffet area, about 10 chairs, and nothing else.

The lounge is so small that the refrigerators and buffet counter occupy probably 30% of the area.

There was a family with two children inside and no one else, which is totally understandable since the welcome lounge upstairs looks like a 5-star hotel compared to this lounge. Needless to talk about facilities, also because those meant as bathrooms are not there and in case you have to go to the ones in the terminal, which are sometimes bigger than this whole lounge.

The only positive note was that in such a small space the buffet offered hot dishes and more.

In conclusion

If there was a ranking of the smallest lounge in the world, I think this Premium Plaza would be in the top 5. If you then compare it to the size of the airport, then it could only be at the top of this ranking by a wide margin.
