Since the outbreak of the pandemic, loyalty programs have tried to protect their loyal customers as much as possible. In 2021, given the difficulties, a gradual phase back to normalcy had continued, and today Hilton Honors made it official that there will be no more reduced requirements for status in 2023.

What changes in Hilton Honors

In 2020 Hilton had halved the elite qualifying thresholds; in 2021 the discount had dropped to 25% and now it has been zeroed out altogether.

  • Silver: 10 nights or four stays or 25,000 basis points.
  • Gold: 40 nights or 20 stays or 75,000 basis points.
  • Diamond: 60 nights or 30 stays or 120,000 basis points.

This year the requirements were as follows: Silver seven nights, Gold at 28 nights and Diamond at 42 nights.

The level Gold is the best in cost/benefit ratio among all hotel chain loyalty programs. In addition to silver level benefits, you get a bonus of 80% on base points, room upgrade, free breakfast around the world (excluding the United States where you receive a daily credit for food and drink).

The Diamond card is the most prestigious and is the one that rewards guests the most with suite upgrades, lounge access, 100% bonus points.

Improve the expiration of points

Hilton suspended the Expiration of points at the beginning of the pandemic until the end of last year. Previously, Hilton Honor points expired. Now, Hilton points will expire after 24 months of inactivity in a member's account.

Lots of promotions to maximize points and status

Right now there are two promotions, which can be combined, that allow you to accumulate thousands of bonus points with each stay and Qualifying double nights until the end of the year.

In conclusion
