Sign of destiny, the exact moment I step outside the first-class suite of Singapore Airlines' A380, comes the news that starting as of Nov. 1, the Asian carrier will no longer offer Dom Perignon to first-class guests.

The Suite on board Singapore Airlines' A380.
The few airlines that have a first class cabin fight to offer the most exclusive products to their guests, likewise the most exclusive brands compete to grab the visibility that certain cabins offer.
Farewell to the Dompe
The cellar of Singapore Airlines has decided to change one of two champagne labels proposals aboard the Suites and First Class. We have often talked about the cellars of the skies, and I must say. Singapore is second perhaps only to Emirates in terms of products offered.
As soon as I stepped into my Suite, 1F this morning in Frankfurt, the cabin attendant asked me what I would like to drink, and 30 seconds later she arrived with a flute on a tray where she poured me the first of many glasses of Dom Perignon 2008 on my flight today.
At the media level, it must be said, Dom Perignon is perhaps the coolest champagne, perhaps only Cristal comes close in terms of notoriety, but on the palate it is something else, and there are labels that are absolutely equal, if not superior.
The other champagne offered on board Singapore Airlines for years has been Krug, today I was served the 167th edition: the maison does not put the year on the label but the releases.
Welcome Taittinger
Singapore Airlines' terse statement announces that as of November 1, 2022, Dom Pérignon champagne will no longer be available on board Singapore Airlines flights, the airline will continue to offer Krug Grande Cuvée and Taittinger Comtes de Champagne to all Suites and First Class customers.
Personally, I don't think that going from Dom to Taittinger Comtes de Champagne is a "downgrade," in terms of cost we are aligned, what makes the difference is, as always, the vintages.
Certainly it will be less "Instagrammable" by those looking for souvenir photos to share on social media to get even more noticed, since Tattinger is a less well-known and famous label and especially not in the rhymes of summer catchphrases as champagne is, which also has a led label.
