ITA Airways inaugurated the new Crew Briefing Center

ITA Airways has inaugurated the new Crew Briefing Center (CBC) at Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport, built in line with the company's values and goals: people-centricity, sustainability, innovation and digitalization.

Cutting the ribbon was Fabio Maria Lazzerini, ITA Airways CEO and General Manager flanked by Ivan Bassato, AdR Chief Aviation Officer, Patrizia Terlizzi, ENAC Fiumicino Airport Director, Riccardo Privitera, ITA Airways Flight Operations Director, and a representation of flight and staff personnel.

The idea that guided the design-implemented by the company's staff-was to provide boaters with a place that combined the characteristics of functionality and innovation with those of welcome and familiarity, to make people feel the closeness of the company of which they are a part.

A new concept created to meet the needs of ITA Airways aircrew-which has about 750 members including commanders and pilots and 1,500 cabin crew chiefs and flight attendants-to respect such a sensitive and strategic profession for an air carrier.

In fact, ITA Airways' new the CBC is equipped with the latest technology to serve the crews and is also a space to experience the current issues, priorities, and projects pursued by the company.

An "integrated" place where aircrew - in addition to receiving necessary operational information (flight plans, weather reports, destination information, service standards, etc.) - can also perform all administrative tasks related to business life (medical examinations, documentation, vacation management, etc.).

The new ITA Airways CBC at Fiumicino is a space of more than 1,000 square meters that, thanks to the unification of areas Landside (500 square meters) and Airside (670 sq. m.),enabled by the reallocation of radiogenic controls, reduced the path to crew boarding.

Even more functional areas have been created within the CBC with:

• Individual resting chairs with a separate, dedicated area;
• New locker room areas with large, comfortable spaces;
• A new luggage room that is even more spacious and functional.

Specifically, the Landside area (access area, before security checks) contains the administrative offices, the medical service room, 1 meeting room, 3 rooms dedicated to "reserve" staff, and a break area.

The Airside area (after security checks) includes 11 briefing rooms, 1 large briefing package area and a break area.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, inside the CBC a 30-meter long wall was dedicated to "The Same People" illustration of ITA Airways' Sustainability Manifesto.
