Royal Caribbean outdoes itself: Icon of the Seas will be the world's largest cruise ship

It happened anon, the cruise ship giant Royal Caribbean announced that it will build the world's largest cruise ship.

The ship will be structured in 8 neighborhoods themed, will have the largest water park at sea on the top deck, with six water slides including one open free-fall water slide, the highest water slide at sea on a cruise ship.

Also present is the AquaDome, which is a aquatic theater which will host underwater, acrobatic and aquatic shows, with restaurants and bars around it. There will then be the Three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse, a giant family suite two-story with bedrooms for adults and children, relaxation areas, large windows and balconies overlooking the sea and also an outdoor play area private with direct access to Surfside, a family-friendly neighborhood.

Also present 7 pools, one of which will be the first suspended infinity pool with a swim-up bar in the sea, within a beach club with solarium and relaxation areas.

The Icon of the Seas will also wink at the  to the environment, will in fact be Royal Caribbean's first ship powered by LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and will also be equipped with fuel cell technology.

The ship will also be able to connect to the shore power grid when there is availability in the port, will have a system to manage the waste state-of-the-art and will be equipped with a system by which it will be able to convert motor heat into electricity.

Icon of the Seas routes

The routes that the Icon of the Seas will ply include the Caribbean with week-long packages complete with a visit to theprivate island by Royal Caribbean. The other routes have not yet been presented, while the Caribbean cruise is already bookable on the official website.

The Icon of the Seas is the first of 3 ships to be delivered by Royal Caribbean by 2026; all three will be sister ships and will redesign a new line of cruise ships in the industry.
