The challenge

How to renew status until January 2024

To maintain matched Premier status for the remainder of the 2023 program year., you will need to earn a certain number of Premier Qualifying Flights (PQF) and Premier Qualifying Points (PQP) on flights operated by United or United Express within 120 days. The number depends on the level of Premier status you are matched to in MileagePlus.

The rules in detail

• The offer is not valid for members who have participated in the MileagePlus status match program or received a Premier status exception within the past 5 years.
• Members who participated in the status match in 2020 or 2021 and failed to qualify for a Premier status through the offer will be able to participate, provided all other terms are met.
• Premier membership materials will not be issued for the 120-day offer period. You can take advantage of Premier benefits on flights operated by United or United Express by providing your account number at the time of booking or at check-in. During the 120-day offer period, you may not have access to all reciprocal Premier benefits with United's partner airlines, including access to Star Alliance lounges.
• Through this offer, you will not be able to qualify for a higher Premier status level than you are matched to in MileagePlus. For example, if you are matched to Premier Silver, you will not be able to earn Premier Gold status through this offer, even if you fly more than 6 FFP and earn more than 2,000 FFP on flights operated by United or United Express during the Offer Period. However, you will be able to qualify for a higher status level if you reach one of the published qualifying thresholds for Premier status.
• After meeting the PQF and PQP requirements to qualify for Premier Platinum status through this offer, members will receive 20 PlusPoints, which will be credited to their account within 7-10 business days. PlusPoints will not otherwise be awarded based on the corresponding status or status achieved through the MileagePlus Premier Status Match challenge
• If you are unable to complete both PQF and PQP requirements within the 120-day offer period, your corresponding MileagePlus Premier status will expire and you may be returned to a lower earned Premier level or general membership status, at United's sole discretion.
• Eligible FPFs and FPPs must be registered in your MileagePlus account.
• Customers who achieve Premier status through this promotion will see their accounts updated in the system within five to seven business days of completing and posting the PQF and PQP requirements outlined for the corresponding status level in MileagePlus.
