When I arrived at T4 yesterday to board my KLM flight to Amsterdam, I had only one destination, Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse. The reason is simple certain the Centurion Lounge at Amex is beautiful, but the Clubhose is better.
So on my way to my destination I passed by a Prime Class lounge, which I did not know existed and had not read about on blogs made in the USA.
N.B. Getting into Virgin's clubhouse now is very complicated, especially when traveling in the late afternoon. I was only able to enter thanks to my Platinum FLying Blue status e to code-share ticket with Delta. Otherwise I would get bounced like all the other customers who with Amex Platinum in hand tried to log in.
The pop up lounge
This lounge has been open for a week and is a temporary lounge, pending the construction of the new First Class which is expected to open during 2023. This info was given to me by the receptionist at the lounge.
Access
The important thing is that it is accessible by priority pass, and is therefore an alternative to the Air India lounge the only other option within this terminal.
The hall
The lounge does not serve alcohol and does not even have bathrooms, to better contextualize the temporary concept.
There are TVs hanging on the walls with departure times and seating, mostly armchairs.
There is then a small buffet area, the offerings again are meager. There is a coffee machine, coolers that with drinks, and a small island with sandwiches and other savory snacks, little stuff.
It is likely that to meet the ever-increasing demand from Prime Class travelers, they decided to open this location and intercept travelers looking for a better seat than the Air India lounge.
In conclusion
Given that T4 is used not only by Delta, but also by Swiss, Emirates, KLM, and Virgin Atlanci really needed a viable lounge for Priority pass passengers, this is a buffer lounge and the new and hopefully large lounge will open soon to meet the demand of so many passengers, especially now that Delta has changed the rules and no longer allows non-business class flyers into Skyclub.
