We have talked many times about theoverbooking, that phenomenon that happens when more tickets of how many places actual there are on the aircraft. The airlines are leveraging the fact that someone is not going to will present at the airport or cancel the trip at the last minute and meanwhile they still pocket the price Of the ticket or insurance paid extra for cancellation.
Sometimes, however, plans do not go as planned, and when almost all the passengers show up at the airport, the seats are not there and the flight goes into overbooking, at which point the airlines have to run to the shelters.

The flight was scheduled for Christmas Eve, and Delta offered a flight 2 days later, thus overcoming Christmas, the family has refuted and took a flight from another airport, Delta covered the expenses for 1 night in a hotel and a rental car.
Flight canceled, marriage cancelled
Even more unfortunate was certainly Katie Demo who, due to bad weather, was seen delete her flight to Belize where she would meet her fiancé for getting married a couple of days later.
