There is a very original tradition at Lufthansa., namely that of greeting passengers boarding with a message that changes each time.
I am not talking about the announcements via the intercom system, indeed in this case LH has long adopted ad neutrality, Avoiding the old "Ladies and Gentlemen." and replacing it with a more generic "beloved guests."
The external "blackboard"
There is always a yellow sticker on the front door of the planes, which seems designed specifically to unleash the creativity of the crew and ground personnel.
There is the Lufthansa logo at the top and then at the bottom the words welcome in German and English. Plenty of space in between, which is sometimes left empty, but many other times is filled with an ad hoc message written by the crew.
On a flight I took recently from Frankfurt to Nice, there was a Santa Claus and a personalized message complete with a little house by the sea.
Other times it is a more generic motivational phrase, but either way it is a different way of greeting passengers about to board.
However, they are small details that make the relationship between passenger and crew much more human. Have you ever noticed this? Write about it in the comments.
