Ryanair, "green" turn on Boeing 737s: new "scimitar" wings to reduce CO2 emissions

Following a $175 million deal with Aviation Partners Boeing (APB), Ryanair has installed the Split Scimitar Winglets (flaps with "scimitar" ends) On the first of more than 400 of its Boeing 737-800 Next Generation. This change will improve aircraft fuel efficiency to 1.5%, reducing Ryanair's annual fuel consumption by 65 million liters and carbon emissions by 165,000 tons.
Ryanair Group plans to increase traffic to 225 million annually by FY 26. Along these lines, this initiative will promote the airline's goal of net-zero by 2050.
