With only a handful of hours to go before the start of the summer schedule, effective March 26, 2023, Ita Airways' summer plans are now finalized and were updated during the recent Mediterranean Tourism Exchange in Naples that was held March 16-18.

The flag carrier's offer, pending the likely marriage to Lufthansa Group, provides an offer of 68 destinations, ten of them long-haul, 36 medium-distance routes and 22 domestic routes.
The network for the U.S.
On the long haul, the new features are the Rome Fiumicino-Washington - which will take off on June 2 with five weekly frequencies that will become daily in August - and will be operated with A330s; and the Rome-San Francisco leaving July 1. The latter takes off with three weekly frequencies that will increase to five from August and will be operated with the flagship A350.

In addition, the network for the United States will see from June 1, 2023, the start of the third frequency between Rome Fiumicino and New York Jfk operated with Airbus A330.
Also considering the connection made every day from Milan Malpensa bound for New York Jfk, increases to four the daily connections offered by Ita Airways between Italy and the Big Apple, for a total of 28 weekly frequencies. Ita Airways' transatlantic network closes with the route to Miami (a daily flight) and connections to Boston and Los Angeles (five flights a week for both) all from Fiumicino.
The long haul from Brazil to Tokyo
In recent weeks, then, the national airline's enhanced the network with Brazil: Starting in August 2023, in fact, Ita will add four weekly frequencies to its daily connections between São Paulo and Leonardo Da Vinci Airport.
The new frequencies from São Paulo International Airport. International routes
Finally, in addition to long-haul, news in the summer season also concerns the most popular Mediterranean beach tourism destinations, with direct flights to Spain, Greece and Croatia.
Ita in particular will operate seasonal flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraclion, Corfu and Rhodes; and will also be served from Rome Fiumicino the destinations of Kefalonia and Split.
The banidera company, however, will operate well 114 weekly flights between Germany and Italy, thanks to connections from airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Hamburg with the hubs of Rome Fiumicino or Milan Linate. An important signal in view of the possible acquisition of Ita by Lufthansa.
500 frequencies in the domestic market
Finally, summer domestic routes will include direct flights from Rome and Milan for a total of more than 500 frequencies. Specifically, Ita Airways will operate direct flights from Fiumicino and Linate to Naples, Bari, Brindisi, Reggio Calabria, Lamezia Terme, Palermo, and Catania - joined by the news Lampedusa and Pantelleria - and Cagliari in territorial continuity from both Linate and Fiumicino.
From Milan Linate, the tricolor carrier will also operate direct flights - again on a territorial continuity basis - to Alghero.
