Berlin's new airport Berlin Brandenburg, was inaugurated in 2020 after an epic more than 10 years. In these first few months of operation, Germany's capital airport has been operating, practically, without airport lounges, a shortcoming that will soon disappear with the long-awaited opening of Lufthansa's official lounges.
Lufthansa Group will soon open two new lounges at theBerlin Brandenburg Airport under the banner of the triptych of gastronomy, cinema and art. The two new lounges Will be inaugurated on April 3 and they are the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and the new Lufthansa Business Lounge.
Who can access the lounges
In keeping with tradition, Lufthansa distinguishes its lounges into two categories.
- Business class passengers will have access to business lounges,
- Holders of Senator or Gold Star Alliance status, traveling from Berlin on an LH flight or another airline of the same alliance will have access to the Senator Lounges, with any type of ticket. In this case, you will also have free access with a guest
For Italian travelers, American Express Platinum holders, will have to wait a few days to find out whether the agreement that allows access to some LH lounges will also be extended to these two lounges.
What's new between digital art and gastronomy
"The Senator Lounge features a modern design, the presence of an innovative steam fireplace,and by a revamped digital art concept featured in the lounge that allows guests to help design the artwork and design of the lounge itself via a dedicated app," the German giant's note points out. A small area will also be reserved exclusively for HON Circle status holders, the highest in the Miles&More loyalty program.
The new Business lounge, on the other hand, "provides the TV Club: a dedicated room with extensive programming of concerts, broadcasts, series, and movies. From breakfast to dinner the gastronomic offer includes a wide culinary selection at all hours of the day, including vegetarian and vegan dishes."
Judging from the few photos sent in the press note, the style of the latest lounges opened around the world is maintained, as well as that of Milan Malpensa.
