Malpensa new Premium Lounge opened: admission costs €68!

In recent weeks we had talked about the imminent opening of the new lounge VIP inside Milan Malpensa Airport and has now become operational.

The room is the old lounge Casa Alitalia, closed with the outbreak of the pandemic and never reopened by ITA Airways. After months of neglect, the space was refreshed directly by SEA, the company that manages Milan's airports, and as of today returns to welcome passengers in addition to the Montale Room, the other lounge accessible in the non-Schengen flight area.

Differences with Montale Hall

The new lounge is called Premium and echoes, of course, the configuration of the Alitalia-era hall. According to the top management of the0 airport, this hall will be of higher level than Montale. What will make the difference most of all will be the food offerings and the level of service.

Thus, a served bar will be operational and there will be table service-a superior treatment that justifies the "premium" name with which it has been renamed. SEA's website states that in addition to the buffet ... Upon request, guests can choose from gourmet dishes, specialty expressions of Italian food, wines and other a la carte drinks.

However, it is unclear whether these proposals will cost extra or be included for guests.

Access

The hall is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. It is not currently on the Priority Pass website or App or other networks, and there is no information regarding the access rules not even on Lounge Buddy, but it is likely to be just a matter of technical upgrade time.

The only certainty is that it will be premium in price as well. At the moment by going to the airport's website it is in fact possible to buy admission for 68€ per person, almost twice as much as Montale, which costs "only" 39€.

There are no entry rules, partner company agreements or other specifics on the site.

In conclusion

By lounge here at TFC we have reviewed nearly a hundred. Personally, I would never pay 68€ to enter any airport lounge., with very few exceptions, but I am talking about inaccessible halls such as the British Airways Concorde Room o Air France's Premiere Lounge.

There is no reason to pay 35€, the average cost of a lounge, let alone paying twice as much. The hope is, As he hints in an interview with Malpensa24 the airport management, that soon an international manager (ed. perhaps Plaza Premium) will arrive who can take the lounge and run it with different standards than the lounges are run with in Italy.
