Best Western is not a chain that often enters our discussions, and for that I apologize, but since I am not a member of this loyalty program and never stay in the hotels of this chain, I can never think of interesting articles to post. That is not the case today, however, as I have discovered a Status Match campaign that is always open, and so I explain how it works because in fact Best Western rewards draws any card with its status match campaign.
What is status match

These offers are offered cyclically by various loyalty programs to "steal" customers from competitors. This is done by airlines, hotel companies, casino loyalty programs (although they are not very popular in the EU) and even cruise lines.
The offer of MS proponents is to equalize the level possessed by a user in a given program, skipping the qualification phase and starting directly from the level possessed. Each campaign has its own rules and restrictions. To obtain the level there is almost always a challenge that the user must complete in order to obtain the award, i.e., status match. We have seen all kinds of challenges, from the more complicated to the simpler ones, or as in this case no challenge at all
How to get Best Western's match status
As simple as filling out a form and send it to the specified address. If you succeed in completing this difficult step you will see yourself promoted to the equivalent level possessed in the BW program.
Technically the proposal is only open to UK residents, but since no proof of residency is required it is a worthwhile endeavor. All you need is to have in your BW profile a mailing address in the UK.
Status Match is open to new and existing Best Western Rewards members ("Members") who reside in the United Kingdom and wish to upgrade their new or existing Best Western Rewards Elite membership level to, but
no higher than their current elite level/status in the loyalty program of any other competing hotel chain ("Competitive Loyalty Program").
To complete the Offer, Members must:
- fill out the Bid form
- provide proof of their current Competitor Loyalty Program elite level/status in one of the following forms: (i) a copy of their current Competitor Loyalty Program elite level/status statement or (ii) a copy of their current Competitor Loyalty Program elite level/status card.
What are the benefits of the Best Western Rewards program
There are 4 levels, in addition to the basic card. What's interesting is that in Italy you only need to have the Gold level to get free breakfast and upgrade entitlement, and the difference between levels is only the bonus points you accumulate with each stay, from 10% of gold to 50% of Diamond Select.
