Wizz Air celebrates first year of operation at its Venice base
Since operations began, the airline has served a total of 6 million passengers to and from Venice, now operating 23 fantastic destinations in 15 countries

Wizz Air and theVenice Marco Polo Airport, part of the SAVE Group, have celebrated The first year of operation since the opening of the Wizz Air base. and the total 15 years of activity in Venice.
The company, which recently launched An initiative that raffles off a trip to a mystery destination, on March 2, 2022, opened its base in the Venetian capital and in the past year offered nearly 800,000 people the opportunity to travel at affordable prices to and from Marco Polo Airport. Overall, since the start of operations, Wizz Air served a total of 6 million passengers to and from Venice, operating today 23 destinations in 15 countries.
The airline currently has two Airbus A321neo aircraft based at Venice Marco Polo Airport and flies to Yerevan (Armenia), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Amman (Jordan), Tel Aviv (Israel), Warsaw (Poland), London Gatwick (UK), Prague (Czech Republic), Cluj-Napoca, Iasi and Timisoara (Romania), Tenerife (Spain), as well as, of course, domestic routes to Catania, Palermo and Naples airports, while seasonal routes to Santorini (Greece) and Palma de Mallorca (Spain) also return this year.
The latest additions to the network include exclusive flights to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, currently served from Marco Polo Airport only by Wizz Air.
Wizz Air employs only A321neo from its Venice base.
