Official, Jetblue will fly to Amsterdam: it will be the third European destination

The news was in the air and now the officialdom has come: JetBlue will fly from Amsterdam to New York. This will be the American airline's third intercontinental route after London (Heathrow and Gatwick) launched last summer, Paris CDG departing in July.

The connection from Amsterdam to New York, and later Boston, will also be used for the the 138-seat Airbus A321LR. It will thus be yet another long-haul connection aboard a narrow-body aircraft.. The layout of these planes is the unique one designed by JetBlue to compete in the rich market for flights between Europe and New York.
All planes will offer two Mint Studios, or larger, feature-rich first-row seats.

At the moment, there is still no official date for the first flight, but JetBlue wasted no time and announced its debut in competition with KLM on the lucrative route connecting Amsterdam with New York. In recent months the company had waged a real legal battle with the airport and the Dutch government, even going so far as to seek the help of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Now that a Dutch court has ruled that blocking the opening of new routes is illegal, here comes the official announcement.
