If there is one thing that is not missing from theBangkok airport are the lounges. Given that it is one huge terminal, it is probably the one with the most lounges in the world: as many as 16.

There are independent lounges and official lounges, and many are accessible to all thanks to cards such as priority passes and the like, and even those of the official companies, often inaccessible to most, are instead open at certain times.

The official lounge of Af and KLM is located at Pier G1, and in the corridor opposite the EVA Air lounge. I must say that I have visited many lounges in this aeport and this is one of the biggest, but also one of the few that has a view of the runway, and more.

Access

Of course, it's the lounge of the Franco-Dutch company, and that means. Doors open to Flying Blue elite travelers when flying AF, KL or other Skyteam carriers. Same for passengers holding Elite + status in Skyteam, who can gain free access if they fly Skyteam on the day.

During low-traffic hours, doors are also open to Priority pass, DragonPass and similar card holders: details are available In the Loungebuddy App..

The lounge

Not only does it have a nice view, but it is also big. Of course, this is an important stopover in the network of KLM and Air France, but Is still a larger lounge than many other carriers Who have a waiting room at this airport.

The hall extends toward the terminal and has a wall that entirely faces the runway and the fingers.

There are different areas with different types of seating, from sofas to restaurant tables, from armchairs to high stools: in short, there is everything. Perhaps the only area that is missing is a little bit isolated and quiet. My favorite position, needless to say, is in front of the window. Ca va sans dire.

Food & Beverage

I personally saw it as a PP user on non-official flight schedule: I have no idea how the catering changes, but I imagine that it doesn't change the offer much since available for guests 8 a.m. There was also champagne.

As I always say, in an airport, passengers are not necessarily all on the same time zone, quite the contrary.

The food offerings ranged from sweet to savory: there were omelets and bacon, potatoes and vegetables, and typical Thai breakfast dishes. The same goes for the drinks. There was truly an embarrassment of riches. From juices to soft drinks to the coffee machine.

Services

It does not offer much. There is no such thing as a Clarins spa in New York and Paris., guests are offered wi-fi and little else.

In conclusion

In BKK it is (almost) impossible not to enter the lounge. Of course, If you do not have an Amex Platinum in your wallet. you have to fly business class, but since to go to Asia you still have to get travel insurance, why not Take advantage of the one included in the card fee That covers any kind of unforeseen event or illness for the whole family?

The verdict
It is an official lounge so it is only fair that expectations are high. We are in an important airport from a tourist rather than a business perspective, despite this Air France and KLM have an official lounge, one of the few in Asia. Accessible even with Priority Pass, outside the hosts' flight schedules. Great views and more than adequate caterign service.
