This hotel was opened in May 2022 and is the second Hilton facility in Latvia: the other hotel belongs to the Garden Inn family e Is located in the historic center of the capital city.
Location
It is located right in front of Riga International Airport., a stopover that thanks to the growth of Air Baltic in recent years has grown so much and is the busiest of the three Baltic capitals.
This hotel Is not ideal for those who want to visit the center of Riga without touching the car, but it is perfect instead both for those who arrive late in the evening, as in my case, and For those who are road tripping and don't want to have problems about where to park the car.
The hotel offers a paid shuttle to and from the airport. Wanting by cab is 5 minutes at a cost of about 9€ or the bus. With 1 € you can get there in just over 5 minutes and the stop is right in front of the hotel.
Reservation
Obviously booked through the app, to accumulate points and bonuses, and again. I opted for the X2 fare: for a little less than 10 euros, I put an extra 1,000 Hilton Honors points in my pocket.
Check-in
The design of this Hampton Inn is the chain's new style line, a way of approaching Marriott's Moxy. The reception desk is integrated into the bar counter, while the common areas are colorful and youthful.
Quick procedures and no upgrades, but it was a given having booked the largest room available, which was a double with a third bed.
The room
The hotel has just under 200 rooms spread over five floors. Our room was on the fifth and faced toward the airport. Unfortunately, we were too far away to have a view of the runway, so no location for spotters.
The rooms also have a basic design. Having asked to turn the sofa into a third bed, there is not much space in the room, but for one night it is more than fine.
There is not even a closet, but that is not a lack that bothers me. These hotels are designed for short stopovers, so no one is unpacking, quite the contrary.
There is a small console that hides the safe, bar fridge, and a cabinet.
There is no coffee machine, but a kettle and classic complimentary bottles of water for hilton Honors customers.
I was not expecting the sweet surprise and a handwritten welcome card. These small attentions are usual in higher category hotels, finding it in a Hampton Inn is a pleasant surprise.
Unmissable mega TV, with smart functionality and internet browser, perfect for reading TFC on a 60-inch.
The bathroom is also standard, but with a comfortable and large walk-in shower.
Service
As a Hilton Diamond I was also able to get a drink and a snack from the small pantry on the ground floor, again an attention not taken for granted in this category of hotel.
There is a small gym on the ground floor with a couple of pieces of equipment and some weights, nothing special.
Breakfast
At Hampton Inn, breakfast is included for all guests. The offerings are more than sufficient and are comparable to the buffets at a Garden Inn.
Compared to the American version, this European Hampton Inn is definitely on another level. In this tier of hotels in the U.S. you can barely find coffee and something to munch on. Here, on the other hand, the buffet is complete, from hot to cold. From sweet to savory, there is even a machine to make your own waffles and Nutella.
In conclusion
Excellent hotel near the airport. Of course, it's not good if you want to stay in Vec Riga, but for short stops, this hotel is perfect. Without forgetting that Is one of only two chances to earn Hilton Honors points in Latvia.
