The Moxy is always nice, in downtown Brussels it's even better

My final stop on this tour between Belgium and Germany before returning to Italy was the Moxy Brussels City Center.

Actually I was supposed to stay near the airport, but all the hotels in the area had really crazy prices so I decided to move downtown, the price was not that much different, but at least I was in a nice area.

Reservation

This time I used 19 thousand bonvoy points. to book a room at this hotel, the cash price was almost 300€, so using points seemed like the best way to pay for the stay.

This is also the first night for me to earn the extra 2000 points per night planned for the fall promotion Bonvoy and valid until December, so on balance the stay cost me 17 thousand points.

Location

The hotel is located in the Ixelles district, a very nice area full of restaurants, bars and stores. Ideal as a base for discovering the capital of Belgium.

It is not easy to find a hotel of this chain in downtown Europe. While for example in New York and in LA are in high-traffic areas, in the old continent they are often located near airports.

Check-in and Room

The Moxy are hotels designed for a young clientele and have a strong design theme, starting with the reception desk that is always integrated into the bar counter.

As usual, the common areas in the lobby are the real soul of the hotels of this sign. Here we are in a mock tropical garden, with palm trees and other plants in the center of the lobby.

Paperwork procedures that take less than 3 minutes, and I was also pleased to receive a small upgrade. Technically it is not an upgrade, since the Moxy rooms are all in the same category, only the size changes.

And indeed I was assigned a nice room, big and with a huge bathroom, the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel in this chain. Also because it is an accessible room, so the bathroom has to be bigger than the standard.

The room has a queen bed in the center, an armchair bedside table and a sofa with side tables. Sofa that can also become a second bed if needed.

Otherwise everything is basic, there is no closet but only a few hangers, and a mega TV.

The hotel

As mentioned the facility is downtown, I having backlog of work to do took a cocktail and worked on the huge table in front of the bar counter.

The rooms are always very colorful, there are lots of different types of seating and even a mezzanine to watch everyone from above. There is a small meeting room and a pc where you can print documents, all beautiful and design.

Food & Beverage

In these hotels I never have breakfast, the offer is average but since I almost always stay there before taking a flight I prefer to go for the bonus points, provided as benefits for those with elite bonvoy status Anyway, then I already know I'll be gobbling in the lounge.

There is also a restaurant on the ground floor; I have not tried it so I cannot make any judgments.

In conclusion

Moxy Brussels promoted, I think I have never been disappointed with a hotel in this chain. Of course, though, at this price, maybe better to aim for something more luxurious, because if the price goes up then I prefer a facility that offers something more.
