Airtransat flies to Canada from Lamezia Terme: direct connection to Toronto reactivated

Airtransat, the Canadian airline represented in Italy by Rephouse GSA, continues investment in the beautiful country and reactivates the direct flight Lamezia-Toronto starting today, Thursday, June 15, 2023. On TFC we had already told you about the New flights to Canada from Rome, Venice and, indeed, Lamezia Terme.
Direct flights represent the only direct connection from Calabria to Canada. Air Transat will operate from June to the end of September a vdirect holo weekly (Thursday) towards Toronto, the bustling metropolis and an ideal destination for family visits.
"The connection that has been active for more than 30 years as a charter flight and for more than 20 scheduled flights," comments SACAL Sole Director Marco Franchini, "is a well-established route. Initially created to meet the demand for direct connections coming from the Italian-Canadian community of Calabrian origin, it has become, over time, a flight capable of intercepting tourist flows from North America to Southern Italy, Calabria in particular. Our goal," the Administrator concludes, "is to transform this seasonality into a stable year-round connection; with the Region of Calabria we are planning suitable initiatives to support intercontinental activity."
On direct flights from Italy are in service the Airbus A330 configured with 346 seats (12 in Club Class and 334 in Economy Class) or 375 seats (12 in Club Class and 363 in Economy Class).
