While Lufthansa is considering bringing back the brand, and the Alitali liverya, in service (although actually. there are still quite a few planes traveling around the world with the historic livery of the former Italian flag carrier), there is to record how the old Millemiglia loyalty program is still alive and well.

Do you remeber Millemiglia

In this article:

Italy is not a country for frequent flyers, or rather it is so bad that as we have had occasion to write several times Is the only nation in the world where two loyalty programs linked to the same airline coexist. Of course to be nitpicky Mymiglia has nothing to do with ITA anymore, but given that the Italian national airline owns the Alitalia brand and that Mymiglia is the new name of the "fù" Millemiglia it is logical to link them.

Contrary to what you might think, Millemiglia points have not expired, or rather they would be but there is still time until July 31 to make up for those expired at the end of 2022.

What to do with the points

If the Flying program does not have an award chart, Mymiglia not only allows you to accumulate points by flying, but also use the points to book award tickets. While also waiting to see how the class action lawsuit filed by a handful of former serial Alitalia point accumulators will end, it is possible to turn MM points into Air France and KLM loyalty program points until July 15.

Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?

You could get up to 600€ compensation per person

Gone is the possibility of turning them into lastminute vouchers from 500€ it is now possible, with an equally bad conversion, to move points to Flying Blue.

Air France and KLM deals return, fly to New York with only 11,250 points
Air France and KLM deals return, fly to New York with only 11,250 points

From June 1, 2023 to July 15, 2023, a new award is available as a promotional offer for MilleMiglia Members and BusinessConnect Companies MM Reward FlyingBlue! It is possible convert the miles available in miles Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France and KLM, benefiting from this conversion: 4 miles = 1 mile Flying Blue.

You can convert by single transaction from a minimum of 8,500 miles(equal to 2,125 Flying Blue miles) up to a maximum of 250,000 miles (equal to 62,500 Flying Blue miles) per calendar year.

How to convert points between the two programs

To request conversion you must indicate the Flying Blue program identification code on which to credit the miles.

To request conversion write, using the e-mail registered in your personal MilleMiglia or BusinessConnect profile, to MMrewardFlyingBlue@mymiglia.com. Conversion will take up to 10 business days; an e-mail will confirm credit.

    In conclusion

Of course the conversion is bad, but considering that before with 250k MM points one would collect the pittance of a little over 700€ in vouchers to spend on Lastminute. By moving the same points to Flying Blue it is possible to arrive at also detach a round-trip ticket in premium economy to fly to the U.S. from Italy.
