After planes, Starlink's satellites also navigate Costa Cruise ship passengers
The new service is already operational, providing the best Wi-Fi experience available to Costa Toscana guests and crew in the Mediterranean. After Costa Toscana, by December 2023 the other ships in Costa Crociere's fleet will also be equipped with SpaceX's innovative broadband Starlink service.

Costa Cruises announced that it has successfully introduced on the flagship Tuscany Coast The innovative Wi-Fi connectivity service provided through SpaceX's Starlink, a leader in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology. The new service is already in place to offer the best Wi-Fi experience available to Costa Toscana guests as they explore some of the Western Mediterranean's most exciting destinations on weeklong cruises.

Satellites wanted by Elon Musk are already being used in the transportation world, several airlines have already adopted this solution in place of more outdated technologies. In Europe, it was AirBaltic that was the first carrier to begin installing the service, but several carriers in the U.S. have already adopted the service.
After Costa Toscana, SpaceX's innovative Starlink broadband service will be gradually extended to the rest of the Costa fleet, starting with Costa Smeralda, sister ship of Costa Toscana. Installation on all ships in the Costa fleet is scheduled to be completed by December 2023.

Starlink will provide fast Internet connection and global coverage, enabling guests to stay connected in even the most remote areas and surf the Web, sharing their experiences in real time. But the benefits are not just for guests. The new service will improve communication between ships and shore offices, streamlining various aspects of shipboard operations and ensuring a smoother and more efficient cruise experience. Crew members' private use of the Internet will also be greatly improved, giving them a reliable and fast connection to stay in touch with loved ones back home or to access social media. On Costa Toscana and soon on Costa's other ships, guests will have the option to purchase packages such as "Pay per Minute," "Whatsapp," "Social," and "Full" that include connection to Starlink.
