Double Chinese news at Malpensa: Hainan Airlines and Juneyao Air flights arrive

Hainan Airlines applies its "HU" code on the 7 domestic Italian destinations connecting with Rome Fiumicino Airport (Catania, Naples, Bari, Venice, Florence, Bologna, Turin) and on 2 international destinations (Paris and Athens). In the coming months, therefore, the codeshare could be extended to Milan Malpensa as well.

Juneyao Air from cargo to passenger flights

Shanghai-based private airline, Juneyao Air, debuts instead on October 30 with a direct flight to Zhengzhou (again biweekly with B787-9 configured with 324 seats).Juneyao debuts at Malpensa in passenger transport.

The airline had already landed in Milan during the early months of the Covid-19 pandemic in cargo mode, carrying medical supplies and personal protective equipment for the Italian market.

Direct flights from Milan Malpensa

The two new entries add to Malpensa's already substantial network for direct flights between Italy and China. Italian airline Neos flies from Milan Malpensa every Wednesday with destination Nanjing. The return from China is scheduled every Friday and both flights are operated with B787 Dreamliner.

Air China, on the other hand, restarted as early as March with a direct flight to Shanghai (daily frequencies) and that to Beijing(which became daily from April).
