A fleet consisting exclusively of A380, Uk-U.S. transatlantic flights, partnerships with big brands, and a dedicated booth for gamers. The curtain rises on the British startup founded by James Asquith - which unveiled the first ambitious new features yesterday in London.

Base at London Gatwick
It remains firm that Global Airlines will fly A380s exclusively, the giant of the skies which was supposed to be scrapped for good during the pandemic and instead is now making a powerful comeback.
After the first aircraft joined the fleet in May, in fact, Global announced a month ago the purchase of three more Airbus A380s.
Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?
You could get up to 600€ compensation per person
The first base will be to London Gatwick with direct flights to New York and Los Angeles, not exactly a "free" corridor given that on the same route (from London, including Heathrow) they already operate Virgin Atlantic, JetBlue, Delta Air Lines, Norse Atlantic and British Airways., among others.
Planned takeoff in 2024
Launched earlier this year with aspirations to offer passengers the best way to fly. The airline is a wholly owned subsidiary of Holiday Swap and is based in London. It is led by ceo, James Asquith, and supported by aviation experts and investors around the world. Inaugural transatlantic flights are scheduled for spring 2024.
According to Matt Davey, deputy managing director of Holiday Swap, "Gatwick is our target, it is the perfect solution for our market, and we are working quickly to obtain certifications and flight clearances. I confirm that we will start flying by the first half of 2024."
Also speaking at the presentation event in London was Asquith, who responded to the many doubts and skepticism surrounding the carrier's business model: "We are much closer to the goal than people think. We didn't just randomly buy A380s: We have been working on the project for at least two years. Our business model will be something completely different."
The Gamer Class Hypothesis.
The first public release of Global Airlines, however, seems full of announcements but stingy on specific details and information. There remains a veil of mystery precisely about the business model, operations, and configuration of the giants of the skies.
Only Liam McKay, the airline's international corporate affairs director, indulged in some speculation about the onboard experience. "The four A380s we have purchased allow Global to innovate and offer products and services that passengers will want to love and experience. We are developing agreements and partnerships with major international brands, and we are studying the possibility of including a "Gamer Class" on board, where passengers can play with the Playstation and Xbox consoles At an additional cost by reserving some dedicated seats."
But the project, according to McKay is still under study; while the three classic classes of service are confirmed: First, Business and Economy for a cpaience ranging from 450 to 471 seats.
The partnership with Amex
The first real news from the Global Airlines presentation, however, is the partnerhsip with American Express, which can make the accumulators of points and miles become greedy.
According to the joint press release of the two companies, launched at the same time as Global's launch event in London, the members Amex cardholders will be among the first to be able to book tickets and benefit from exclusive offers with the airline.
The agreement also includes a series of exclusive fly&drive deals, hotel stays and restaurant reservations made available to Amex holders.
Global Airlines ceo James Asquith said, "I am excited to partner with American Express to offer its cardholders exclusive offers and promotions; as well as the opportunity to board one of our first flights. This is a really important step for the airline."
Passengers who book a Global Airlines flight with Amex will also be able to pay with the Pay with Bank Transfer by American Express, a simple, fast and secure way for consumers to pay directly from their bank account. (Currently not available for the Italian market).
