Ryanair, five new routes from Alghero to "the mainland"
Ryanair has put on sale 5 domestic routes to/from Alghero for winter '23.

This winter, Ryanair will operate more than 30 weekly flights between Alghero and major continental destinations including Bologna, Milan-Bergamo, Milan-Malpensa, Naples and Pisa.
Ryanair again calls on Minister Urso and the Italian government not to engage in a dysfunctional and illegal price cap that puts routes, investment and jobs at risk, but instead to support incentives to reduce costs for airlines to allocate vital capacity like the one announced today. The citizens of Sardinia need connectivity and investment that supports the Sardinian economy.
Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson stated:
"We are pleased to launch 5 domestic routes to/from Alghero for winter 23 with over 30 weekly flights connecting Sardinia with major continental destinations such as Bologna, Milan Bergamo, Milan Malpensa, Naples and Pisa. The launch of these routes demonstrates Ryanair's commitment to Sardinia, offering vital connectivity and tourism during the winter season with fares starting from €19.99.
Unfortunately, while Ryanair is investing and driving growth for Sardinia with real investment, the Italian government is doing the opposite with its misleading and illegal price cap decree that will have the unintended consequence of driving Ryanair investment away from Sardinia in the summer and winter of 2024. If this new decree is not withdrawn, Ryanair will unfortunately be forced to reduce capacity from Sardinia and Sicily, which will mean fewer passengers at higher fares.
Over the past 25 years, Ryanair has transformed Italian regions with an investment of about $10 billion with 92 aircraft based over 40,000 jobs. Ryanair wants to continue to invest in regions like Sardinia with direct and diversified connections to Italian and international destinations and has handed Minister Urso a proposal to deliver another 2 million passengers to Sardinia, and we await his positive response.
Stakeholders in Sardinia understand what it takes to attract airline capacity with lower access costs that will provide local investment, more tourists and more jobs. The Italian government should support Sardinian initiatives and airports to attract winter air connections, rather than drafting anti-investment decrees from Rome. If Minister Urso wants to support this fantastic Sardinian initiative, he should respond positively to ryanair's proposal to bring another 2 million passengers to Sardinia."
