Passengers from Venice to North America exceeded 2019 numbers
Venice Airport, strong increase in traffic on North America (USA and Canada): from January to July recorded 555 thousand passengers, +4% compared to the same period in 2019

Since the beginning of the year, traffic flows between Venice Airport and North America showed a strong recovery and an increase compared to 2019, base year before the crisis brought about by the pandemic.
From January to July, a total of 555,000 passengers flew to/from the United States and Canada, up 4% over the same period in 2019. Interestingly, the figure shows the trades split in half between the United States and Canada.
Of these, 272 thousand used the direct flights operating this summer season that connect Venice daily with New York JFK and Atlanta (Delta Air Lines), New York Newark (United Airlines) and Philadelphia (American Airlines). Added to these are the 4 weekly flights to Toronto and Montreal operated by Air Canada and Air Transat.
Confirming the excellent trend, it should be noted that this year Delta Air Lines brought forward the historic connection to New York JFK to March, while United Airlines is operating the route to New York Newark for the first time with a 276-seat Boeing 777 aircraft, which is more capacious than the previous 214-seat B-767. All North American carriers are satisfied with flight fills, which average 93%, peaking at 96%, well above 2019's 85%.
By 2024, Marco Polo's transatlantic flight network will be further strengthened: In fact, American Airlines has announced the resumption of the direct Venice-Chicago flight (absent from 2019), the carrier will also bring forward the operation of the Venice-Philadelphia flight to April.
