The story of Sydney's W may, perhaps, be told in a docuseries on Neflix. Announced in 2018, completed and ready to open in early 2020. But then the pandemic stopped the world in its tracks and mothballed the opening of this structure that has the iconic shape that made the Marriott Group chain famous.
The finished hotel has been gathering dust in the Sydney Marina for nearly 4 years, waiting for the opening day. Finally now there is the date and reservations have been opened for what Will be the most important facility for the Marriott family in the capital of New South Wales, one of Australia's most important cities.
On the hotel's website it says that the debut will be in October 2023 and that reservations are open for stays starting November 1, in time for the highlight of the Christmas holiday season and in view of the most important perdio from a tourism point of view for the area.
Room prices are definitely the highest of other Marriott facilities, although the location is not as spectacular as, for example, that of the Pier One located under the iconic Sydney Bridge.
The price for a night in a basic room starts at 775 Australian dollars, about 470 euros, a decidedly high price, but the W is one of the most luxurious chains in the Marriott portfolio. The asking price in points starts at 63 thousand per night, and is, as always, amortizable by taking advantage of staying one night free for every 5.
