Flight number 104 in the year 2023 was fatal, this year I spent more than 400 hours in the air and at least a few hundred hours in airports around the world. Since I issued the challenge in May. of the bum hunt there had been 14 passengers who had "caught the bum at the airport " but Maurizio from Carrara was the first one who stole my seat.
In this article:
On the 14 previous occasions, the bum hunters and I were not on the same flight or in two cases I was recognized when I was already sitting in my chair Of business class.
The site of the misdeed
What I was shooting was supposed to be a video split in half a challenge between ITA Airways' new business class that Will debut on Dec. 1 on the Fiumicino Tel Aviv with the old woman on board an A320 from Cairo to Rome. Of course as always my activities are not agreed with the companies and my reviews are always "honest and sincere" since I pay (points or cash) like a normal passenger.
I had already turned all the parts on the ground and was ready to approach the gate When I turned around and that's when I realized I had been caught.
Who is the lucky passenger
Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?
You could get up to 600€ compensation per person
The first thing Maurizio said to me, after the ritual sentence, was :" I was hoping to catch you on a flight from South America" , in fact in that case it would have been much more painful for me and lustful for him.
Maurizio is a true reader. "I follow you on the site and watch your videos on YT, I don't use IG and other social" .
Rewind
I have to say. could absolutely have been worse. Today the Cairo Rome AZ 897 flight was practically full, and flights from North Africa on the best of occasions always smell special and are always full of children in a party mood. Lucky for me, Maurizio was seated in seat D, so aisle, and especially in row 5, the first behind the business class curtain.
Passing the gate turnstile, we exchanged boarding passes and sat in our new seats.
Consolation prize for me
For the avoidance of doubt, I reiterate that. was not prepared (I would have chosen a cooler flight) let alone sponsored (We would have chosen a nicer plane).
Technically I could have said to Mauritius, "I'm sorry but I'm already at the gate it doesn't count, too easy to catch me standing here motionless at the queue to board," but since it's a game I like to play to the end.
Shortly after takeoff the cabin steward came to greet me , he too had recognized me at the time of boarding. I explained to him what was going on and he to sweeten my "disappointment" offered me a small bottle of prosecco.
The hunt is still on
I honestly thought it would happen sooner, but instead I went smoothly I am at the end of September. The bum hunt, however, continues until December 31 . Between now and the end of the year, at the moment, I still have 18 flights scheduled. Of these 12 will be in business all on long-haul two in PE and only 4 in economy.
Who will be the next one to tell me #heybarbonewantstheirplace ?
