A major brand among European leisure segment airlines is changing. Germany's Eurowings Discover, established in 2021 as the leisure arm of Germany's low-cost Eurowings (one of Lufthansa Group's five brands), now becomes Discover Airlines.
An evolution that results in a new livery combining the different sky blue tones with yellow and with the small print 'discover' in light blue followed by a dot (yellow) dominating the front of the fuselage.
It also changes the service
Colors and materials will also be changed in the passenger cabin, where over the past year the company has introduced free blankets in Economy (on long haul), food and beverage upgrades in all classes, and more in-flight entertainment (also on long haul).
More new features will be introduced in the near future, including free long-haul audio headsets and an upgrade of the Premium Economy cabin. The first airplane to sport the new livery and interior is an Airbus A320 that took service yesterday from the Frankfurt hub.
The Discover fleet
Discover Airlines (which also has a hub in Munich) inherits the 22-aircraft fleet of Eurowings Discover, which includes 10 Airbus A320s in 180-seat single class, 7 Airbus A330-300s with three-class set-up (Business, Premium Economy and Economy) with capacity for 283 and 302 passengers (depending on the set-up) and 3 Airbus A330-200s also in three classes for 270 passengers.
Where Discover flies
There are about sixty destinations, scattered among the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, and the Red Sea on short and medium haul. On long-haul, however, they fly to a dozen destinations in the United States as well as Vancouver, Calgary, and Halifax in Canada; to Tanzania, Namibia, and Kenya in Africa; the Caribbean network includes Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Barbados, Jamaica, and Martinique; and in the Indian Ocean the destinations are Mauritius and the Maldives. The frequent flyer program remains, of course, the one in which the Lufthansa Group participates: Miles & More.
