Wizz Air, the third largest airline by traffic in Italy, has announced theAddition of 4 new Airbus A321neo aircraft at its bases in Italy: The latest generation aircraft will arrive between March and July 2024.

3 aircraft will join the fleet at Rome Fiumicino and 1 aircraft will be used at Milan Malpensa. With this expansion Wizz Air will launch 6 new routes and will increase frequencies on 17 existing routes by next summer.
In the summer of 2024, the company will have 14 aircraft stationed in Rome and eight in Milan. With A network serving nearly 230 routes in more than 40 countries in Italy, Wizz Air is further strengthening its position as the go-to choice for travelers seeking connections throughout Europe and beyond, being able to choose from a variety of destinations.
Summer 2024 routes
Starting in spring-summer 2024, Wizz Air will introduce six new routes from Italy: from Rome Fiumicino a Berlin, Hamburg (Germany), Alicante (Spain) and Copenhagen (Denmark); from Milan Malpensa a Paris Beauvais (France) and Tenerife (Spain). At the same time, the airline will enhance its offer on routes: from Rome to Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia (Spain), London Gatwick (United Kingdom), Prague (Czech Republic), Yerevan (Armenia), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Amman (Jordan), Sharm-el-Sheikh (Egypt), Port (Portugal), Suceava (Romania), Resovia (Poland), Baku (Azerbaijan); from Milan to Sharm-el-Sheikh and Cairo (Egypt) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
At the press conference in Rome József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air Group, commented, "After establishing our first base in the country only three years ago, today Wizz Air is further strengthening its position as Italy's third largest airline. With this investment, Wizz Air continues to grow in Italy, offering more convenient and sustainable travel opportunities, improving connectivity and stimulating competition in the market. The additional aircraft will not only provide passengers with more flight options to many particularly popular destinations, but will also stimulate the economy as we are creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs with Wizz Air and in the hospitality sector."
Since Wizz Air established its first base in Italy in 2020, it has introduced more than 50 new routes previously not served in the market and created more than 1,000 direct jobs. The airline is constantly working to improve its product offerings for customers, including domestic travel. With the launch of the WIZZ MultiPass, travelers have the opportunity to take advantage of a monthly pass that allows them to lock in a ticket price for a period of 6 months on domestic routes in Italy, starting from only 37 euros per month .
