Millemiles, missed credits and vanished points. Is the end of the former Alitalia frequent flyer's agony near?

Let's get back to the business of Millemiglia, Alitalia's former loyalty program has changed its name but the phone numbers and recorded call center message are still Alitalia's and the wording is still "Thank you for calling Millemiglia."

As we have repeatedly had occasion to write Millemiglia is still alive (and alive) and after having Closed the 2020 and 2021 budgets in the black totaling nearly 11M, recorded a loss of just over 6M in 2022.

I'm not a financial analyst, but it seems logical to guess that in 2020 (the year of the pandemic) and 2021 (Alitalia's last year) receipts from commercial agreements and point sales allowed the company, which is wholly owned by Alitalia - Società Aerea Italiana in A.S., to record a generous profit even in the face of non-payment of bonuses.

Last year's loss was inevitable also because lacking the proceeds from the sale of points, (one would have to be insane today to accumulate this currency) the company mainly recorded outflows almost all of which (probably) went to Lastminute which was the most convenient way for users to use the remaining treasury.

What is surprising, however, is the value of production, hence turnover, which in the last three years has remained virtually unchanged, in 2022 the value was 16.3M euros, even higher than the value in 2021.

Return of award tickets cancelled in 2021

Over the past few months, several users have reported to me that they have finally received refunds for their tickets award cancelled in 2021 and never returned to date. I was convinced that this problem did not exist, since I as well as many others had had award tickets issued for Flying after the fateful date of October 14, 2021, instead many in fact a great many, had not yet received the refund.
