There are loyalty programs that regularly sell points to members, and others that do so very rarely and in very short windows. Etihad Guest, EY's loyalty program is one of them, and has just launched a promotion that runs until Dec. 13 which allows the 50% of free points.
How to buy Etihad loyalty program points
Recently the news of the possibility of using points from the loyalty program of the UAE flag carrier to Flying with Air France and KLM gave new value to frequent flyer made in Abu Dhabi.

Each user can buy a maximum of 100K points per year, a limit that is raised to 150k if you have Platinum status, the highest in the loyalty program. With this bonus you can get 50K points for free, thus reducing the expense of buying points.
How to use EY points
Flying business class from Milan to Abu Dhabi costs from 60k Etihad Guest points. A few more points to fly from Emirates to London in business and less than 141k are needed to fly First Class on the same route.
