I am talking mainly about Hilton and Marriott, but when there are benefits and advantages to be gained, I also try to talk about all the other brands on the globe. As in this case dealing with a topic that is not well known, a secret word that said in the right place, at the right time, opens the door to an advantage for the guest of this hotel.
Kimpton Hotel's secret password
Kimpton is a sign of IHG and a couple of times a year offers free gifts to guests who check in and know some secret words.
There is no exact moment at which the password is revealed, and in this case went into effect on December 1 and will be active until February 29, 2024.
Pronounce the secret word Doesn't open doors to a VIP room, but unlocks benefits which are offered to the guest who knows it and pronounces it at check-in.
There is no defined list, no official list, and each hotel is free to make changes to what they want to offer, but let's say more or less the choice is between:
- Discounts in the hotel such as free breakfast, complimentary parking, consumptions in the hotel bars
- Gadgets such as mugs and souvenirs from the hotel
- Points, credit to spend in hotel, use of pay-per-view in room
