Val d'Ega: a little paradise for those who love winter activities
Val d'Ega (Eggental) is a particularly popular valley for tourists visiting South Tyrol. It owes its name to the Ega stream that runs through it; it begins a few kilometers north of the city of Bolzano and extends in a southeasterly direction until it reaches the Costalunga Pass, which leads into another beautiful valley, the Fassa Valley; it also communicates with the Fiemme Valley through the Lavazè Pass.

Eggental is a true paradise for winter activity enthusiasts, and your hotel is located practically next to the slopes of the award-winning ski area Latemar - Obereggen/Pampeago/Predazzo which provides about 50 km of slopes for the skiing and snowboarding; on the other hand, there are 18 ski lifts that transport skiers and snowboarders to altitudes between 1,540 and 2,388 meters. Among other things, there is also the possibility of night skiing.
There are also excellent opportunities for all those who practice the cross-country skiing thanks to the slopes of Nova Levante-Carezza, Passo Lavazè and Nova Ponente for a total of about 100 km of fun.
There is, of course, also no shortage of opportunities for all those who enjoy the tobogganing; by the way, a slope runs right past your hotel and leads from the Epircher-Laner hut, which can be reached by cable car or on foot, to the Obereggen valley station. The slope is about 2.5 km long and is also suitable for families with children in tow. Night sledding is also possible three days a week.
An alternative is the approximately one-kilometer-long "Hubertus" sledding track located at the Costalunga Pass; the medium-level track starts at the top station of the Hubertus gondola lift (in Pra di Tori) and goes all the way to the start of the lift.
