Turkish Airlines, the airline that serves more destinations around the world than any other, and who has just launched his new challenge, the flight to Australia, is on its way to becoming the non-low-cost foreign airline with the most weekly frequencies to Italy from its Istanbul hub.
In recent hours, the Turkish carrier announced. The upgrading of its services to four cities in our country starting March 31. and (at least) throughout the upcoming summer season. Three of the four 'enhanced' cities are located in the south: from the Bari will go from five weekly frequencies to one daily frequency; Naples from 14 weekly frequencies (two flights a day) to 18; Palermo From 4 weekly frequencies to 6. To and from Bologna there will be as many as three daily flights, or 21 weekly frequencies instead of the previous 18.
To Bari, Turkish flies a Boeing 737-800 in two classes with 16 seats in Business Class and 135 in Economy; to Naples with two Boeing 737-800s and a 159-seat Airbus A320; to Palermo with a Boeing 737-800; to and from Bologna, two flights are operated with Airbus A320s and one with Boeing 737-800s.
With the addition of these 11 weekly frequencies, connections operated by Turkish to Italy each week will increase from 125 to 136, with eight cities served. In addition to Bari, Naples, Palermo and Bologna, the list of Italian cities connected to Istanbul includes Rome, Milan Malpensa, Venice and Catania.
At Fiumicino, in 'summer 2024,' Turkish will fly four times a day, with two flights operated with Airbus A320s, one with Boeing 737-800s, and one with wide-body Airbus A330-200s with 18 or 24 lie-flat seats in Business and 232 or 255 in Economy; at Malpensa there will be four daily connections, two of them with A330-200s, one with A321s (with 20 seats in Business and 158 in Economy) and one with A320s; at Venice there will be three daily frequencies, all with A320s; at Catania one daily with A321neo with 20 seats in Business and 162 in Economy.
