Flights will be operated four times a week - Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - with the new Airbus A321neo configured in 3 classes: 141 seats in economy (of which 12 are dedicated to comfort economy), 12 seats in premium economy e 12 seats in business class.
The A321neo, the largest aircraft in Airbus' A320neo family, boasts 20% lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat as well as a 50% reduction in noise impact compared to previous generation aircraft.
Following are the schedules of the new connection:
- Rome - Dakar: departure from Rome Fiumicino is scheduled at 15:30 with arrival in Senegal at 19:30 (local time). Starting October 27, however, departure from Fiumicino will be at 15:00 and arrival in Dakar will be at 20:10 (local time).
- Dakar - Rome: departure from Dakar - Blaise Diagne Airport will be scheduled at 23:40 (local time), with arrival in Rome Fiumicino for 07:20 the morning after departure. From October 27, the departure time will be moved to 23:50 (local), with arrival in Rome at 06:25.
With the opening of this new route, Italy's national airline will operate as many as 57 routes during summer '24: 16 domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental. But not only that. In the peak of the summer season, in fact, Ita will fly to 10 additional destinations: prominent among them are the Spain (Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca), Greece (Rhodes, Heraklion, Corfu, Kefalonia), the Croatia (Split) and the Italian islands (Lampedusa and Pantelleria).
The new link will operate from July to October.
