In transit to Frankfurt I was able to pop into the Panorama Lounge., I was curious since I had never had a chance and had only read positive reviews. And I must say that it is the best in the whole terminal and beyond.
Location
In this article:
The lounge is located near the A26 gate, if you have a flight that departs from remote gates (today I was departing from A38) it is definitely the most convenient by location. But it is also not too far from the busiest and busiest Senator and Business of Terminal A.
Access
Did you get your flight cancelled, miss your connection, land late?
You could get up to 600€ compensation per person
Unlike other lounges that divide passengers by ticket class or cabin of travel, this lounge is open to all Senators, business travelers, or Gold Star Alliance card holders.
It is not among those accessible for free with Amer Platinum, so it also saves you the steps to try to get in.
The lounge
The entrance is the least "exciting" thing, but it is like the rabbit hole, outside is an anonymous desk and a black portal. Inside is a whole different story. It is amazing how much this lounge is Stylistically distant from all other LH group lounges. I'm not just talking here in Frankfurt, but all over the network.
Turning right at the reception desk feels like being in a lounge like any other, the only difference, is that the windows do not have any kind of window pane, as in the neighboring Senator and Business, thin lines that make it difficult to take photos of the planes on the apron.
Here, however, as the name implies, the view is King, nothing to spoil the view, and the windows are perfectly clear to admire and photograph what is happening on the runway, and there is plenty to do at this airport.
Things are completely different if, at the reception, you turn left.
Here you enter a 4-star hotel. Low ceiling, small rooms opening one after the other all furnished like sitting rooms, all with a view of the runway.
They almost look like small private rooms. One would want to close the door and isolate oneself in this realm of spotters.
The colors, the finishes, everything is different. Of course to some people it might look a little bit too messy, with hallways, corners and small rooms. But I think it was the perfect choice to use a space where there were limitations that prevented everything from opening up and making a huge open space. And the result is really nice.
Food & Beverage
To accommodate the fact that we are in a kind of diffuse lounge, buffets and benvande islands have been placed in multiple locations. Of course this imposes more management and maintenance work, but the result is perfect.
Although you are far from the main buffet, there are several food stations here and there with the same offerings found in the larger lounges.
In conclusion
This lounge, although it may be out of the way, is where you can catching the bum in Frankfurt from now on.
