KrisFlyer, the frequent flyer program of Singapore Airlines, is turning 25 and to celebrate it is launching initiatives for all members, with this article I try to summarize the most important initiatives for all members of this program which, I remind you, is one of the Membership Rewards partners of American Express.

February's spontaneous escapes will last twice as long
KrisFlyer's Spontaneous Escapes offer discounted award tickets in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class cabins on a number of routes every 15th of the month. When the offers come out next February 15, users will have the usual 14 days to book, but the window will be double.
If usually you can only book for the next month, this time two months. This means that February 15 you can book a ticket to fly until the end of April.
50% of bonus miles
Until February 10, 2024, KrisFlyer members will earn an extra 50% of miles for all flights booked on the Singapore Airlines website or mobile app, for travel between July 1 and November 30, 2024. The offer mentions the 50%, but there is a limit of 5,000 points per leg flown, a limit that does not affect those traveling in economy, but instead significantly limits the earnings of those flying premium.
Here are in detail the classes of tickets valid for getting the bonus:
- First: all rates (F, A)
- Business: Flexi (Z, C, J), Standard (U), Lite (D)
- Premium Economy: Flexi (S, T), Standard (P, L), Lite (R)
- Economy: Flexi (Y, B, E), Standard (M, H, W), Value (Q, N), Lite (V, K)
Obviously, prize tickets do not earn anything, while in case of cash&points ticket the accumulation will be proportional to the amount paid cash.
Qualifying miles with online spending
For a period of three months, from March 2024 to May 2024, KrisFlyer members can earn Elite miles by shopping at Kris+, KrisShop or Pelago. This is definitely an interesting innovation because it allows 1 qualifying mile for every dollar spent.
Elite miles earned will count toward renewal of KrisFlyer Elite status or upgrades to KrisFlyer Elite Silver or Elite Gold levels. Again, there is a cap on the elite miles that can be earned through spending and it is 5k.
In conclusion
It is not certain that something new will come out in the next few days, perhaps a special discount for spontaneous escapes, definitely very interesting the possibility of accumulating up to 5000 qualifying points for each route booked in with this offer.
I remind you that with 50k points you get the Star Alliance Gold level for 12 months.
