Miles&More, the loyalty program of Lufthansa and all German group companies, has the option of creating the family group. This means that with Mileage Pooling two adults and up to five children can combine their award miles into one Mileage Pooling for free.
Unfortunately, however, the creation of new accounts is currently suspended and there is no definite information on when it will be restored.
The discounted ticket for children
One of the lesser-known features, regardless of whether points can be shared as a family, is the ability to redeem discounted award tickets for all children between the ages of 2 and 11. A discount that is already applied when searching for the award ticket.
The 25% discount applies to the Miles&More points needed to redeem the award ticket on board the following airlines: Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Eurowings, Discover Airlines, Air Dolomiti, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and Luxair.
It is good to remember that children under 24 months can fly for free, as long as they do not require a seat, and only airline taxes, fees and surcharges apply.
