It is news time at British Airways: the British flag carrier announced, among other things, which will introduce free in-flight messaging on its flights from April 3..
There is only one condition: to be enrolled in theExecutive Club, the carrier's loyalty program; what is even more interesting is that. it is not necessary to hold elite status, so if you are not yet enrolled in British's program now you have a more than valid reason to do so.
Free messaging: on which flights will it be available?
The change will affect the entire fleet (except for aircraft without wi-fi connectivity) and all the flights of British, both domestic and long-range ones.
Free messaging, it is clear, will be appreciated especially by passengers on short flights who often, we know, do not have any entertainment options; but business travelers will also be happy, as they will be able to stay in touch with their co-workers even in the shortest routes.

As for other news, British has announced the revamping of its website and app: The first changes in user experience will be visible as early as the end of 2024.

British also announced new routes. The British carrier, first of all, will resume the connections to Bangkok (starting in October) and towards Kuala Lumpur (from November); flights to Malaysia's capital will be operated by a Boeing 787-900, those to the Thai capital will be operated by a Boeing 777-200ER instead.
In addition, flights between London-Heathrow and Abu Dhabi will resume from April 20.; from March 31, instead, flights to Agadir will depart, in Morocco and From May 18, finally, British will begin connections to Izmir, Turkey.
