The privilege club, or Qatar's frequent flyer program has been by far the most generous of all loyalty systems from the outbreak of the pandemic to the present. Soft landing for (almost) everyone
The soft landing, or parachute, is a special feature that don't have many loyalty programs. In practice it is a guarantee of controlled degrowth, the loyalty program member who has failed to renew the level held will only be downgraded by one level, regardless of the number of Qpoints accumulated during the year.

How this works is explained on the appropriate page. If the Member fails to maintain the existing membership level, he/she will be downgraded to:
- the level immediately below, provided there has been activity (accumulation or redemption) in your account in the previous 24 months. This means that an existing Platinum level member will become Gold and an existing Gold level member will become Silver
- the level of enrollment at Burgundy, if there has been no activity (accumulation or redemption) in the account in the previous 24 months.
What is very interesting is that parachute protects anyone who has made a oneworld flight paid, but also color who did not accumulate any qualifying flights, but simply spent points on award flights with Qatar. QPoints sale with discount

- To obtain the card Gold (Oneworld's Sapphire) you need to accumulate 300 Qpoints in 12 months, but to renew the level you only need 270 Qpoints in the last 12 months or 540 in the last 24 months
- To obtain the card Platinum (Emrald of Oneworld) you need to accumulate 600 Qpoints in 12 months, but to renew the level you only need 540 Qpoints in the last 12 months or 1080 in the last 24 months
It is good to remember that unlike Flyinng Blue's XP or qualifying Miles&More, the number of Qpoints you accumulate with flights varies not only by cabin, but also by class of travel. This means that with a discounted fare flight you accumulate fewer Qpoints than with a full fare ticket. Which is not the case with other loyalty programs
All members who want to buy the missing points to renew status by March 28 can do so with 40% discount. However, there is a maximum number of Qpoints that can be purchased by March 28, 2024.
The limitation, as you can see, is to buy maximum points needed for card renewal, but it is not possible to buy points to "level up", so a user who is zero today but platinum will be able to buy 540 Qpoints, but a user who is gold today will not be able to buy more than 270 points.
